Pankaj Tripathi revamps the school in which he studied in his village

Mumbai : Anyone who knows Pankaj Tripathi can agree that the actor is one of the down to earth actors that the industry has. And he had proved this fact time and again. The actor has done a lot for the upliftment of his village.
In the recent one, Pankaj, who originally belongs to Gopalganj district in Bihar, got a government school renovated. Pankaj says, “Our Gopalganj district administration made an app called the Gopalganj Gaurav app.
A meeting was held where the administration said that anyone who is from the district but resides outside, wants to undertake social service activities for their village or district, the administration will help them undertake such activities. I was present in the meeting and I felt it was a good initiative.
Two months after the meeting, the principal of the now secondary school where I had done my primary education as the school was then upto primary, called me and said that they need funds to construct a compound wall and gates to secure the school children as there is a road just outside the school and children run across the road.”
Pankaj along with his elder brother, planned and funded the project. “Later when I visited the village, I went to the school and realized that the plaster in some parts of the school was falling off, the colors were faded, lights and fans were not functioning properly.
I thought this also needed to be done. So through the trust that was formed in the name of my mother and father Pandit Banaras Tiwari Foundation trust, we took the initiative to revamp and upgrade the school infrastructure.
I studied in the same school and the whole idea of this initiative is to inspire all the students to come to school and show keen interest in their studies by experiencing the state of the art infrastructure in their vicinity and develop interest in education.”
The project was in collaboration with the paint brand that Pankaj is the brand ambassador of. “The brand supported the initiative through electrical equipment and the painting of the school.
The rest of the funds which were required, we supported through our foundation and completed the upgrade. We also ensured the school should be self dependent in terms of power supply and electricity, we got eco-friendly solar energy panels installed so that at the time of power failures the students shouldn’t shouldn’t be facing any troubles while they are studying in school” says Pankaj Tripathi.
Currently, the actor is working on the construction of a library in the school premises owing to his love for literature and benefitting the students in the long run.
