Workshop on Python organized at RBU

 

Mohali : The Department of Computer Applications of Rayat Bahra University organized a week-long workshop on `Python – with AI and Data Science’. Pushkar Rawat, CEO, Churamani Sharma, General Manager, and Harjinder Kaur, Team Leader, Novem Controls conducted the workshop. Pushkar Rawat, who was the guest of honour, said the focus of this workshop was to bridge the industry academia gap and lay a strong foundation of job readiness for the students.

Pushkar Rawat said the workshop aimed to help students become successful experts in the field of Information Technology and to build key Python skills with engaging development tasks and challenging activities; implement useful algorithms and write programs to solve real-world problems; and apply Python in realistic data science projects and create simple machine learning models.

One can gain skills to ensure personal and professional growth and to contribute to the prosperity of the organization, he added. Rawat said with the rapid digital transformation across industries, there has been a significant surge in the demand for professionals skilled in Python. This versatile programming language has emerged as a cornerstone in the tech world, powering a wide array of applications and systems with its simplicity and flexibility.

Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra conveyed his best wishes to the visiting experts, participating faculty and the students. Anita Goyal, Head of the Department of Computer Applications, welcomed the guests at the workshop. Final year students and faculty members actively participated in this Workshop. Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh appreciated the idea of the workshop and stressed the need of giving practical exposure to the students.

Speaking on the occasion, Dean of the University School of Management Studies (USMS) Dr Piush Verma emphasized that these workshops play a vital role in skill development and that was the need of the hour. He also underlined the need of regularly conducting such types of activities which could help update knowledge of the students.
