Talk on career prospects in science at RBU

Mohali : In an endeavour to guide students towards a successful career path, the Department of Chemistry of the Rayat Bahra University organized an insightful lecture on career opportunities/jobs for students after completing graduation/post-graduation degrees. Dr Rajeev Kumar chairperson department of environment studies (PU) was the guest speaker and shared valuable insights with the students.
The session started with a welcome note for guest speaker by Dr Harish Kumar, Head of the Chemistry Department. The lecture delved deep into the diverse range of career avenues available to students, highlighting both traditional and emerging fields.
The speaker emphasized the importance of aligning academic pursuits with personal interests, going abroad and career aspirations, encouraging students to explore their potential and make informed decisions. Elaborating on the job prospects after graduation, he provided a comprehensive overview of various industries and the skills required for different roles.
He highlighted the significance of internships and practical experiences in enhancing employability and gaining valuable exposure to the professional world. Recognizing the growing importance of post-graduation studies, Dr. Rajeev Kumar discussed the benefits of pursuing higher education and diverse specializations available in India and abroad.
He encouraged students to consider post-graduation as an opportunity to add on to their knowledge, enhance their skills and specialize in a particular field. The lecture concluded with an interactive session, where students actively engaged with the speaker to seek clarifications and gain personalized guidance.
