RBU hosts Thrive Future Summit-2024

Mohali : African Students Association of Rayat Bahra University organised Thrive Future Summit on `Entrepreneurial Skill Development-Unlocking Africa’s Potential’. Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra appreciated the concept considering the need of the hour to inculcate entrepreneurial skills among young minds so that they could generate more employment.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh stated that the development of entrepreneurship is associated with several key concepts. These included being inventive, innovative, risk-taking, and sustainable. Understanding each of these concepts was essential for businessmen to succeed. Finding a business idea, creating a plan for the venture, obtaining funding, and expanding the business are all part of entrepreneurship, he added.
Dean Students Welfare Dr Simerjit Kaur stated that Thrive Summit is a perfect interactive platform for people with interest in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation. She said that in a highly competitive business environment, entrepreneurs faced many challenges in the pursuit of starting a business. Hence understanding these challenges could prepare professionals to handle them if they encounter any as they start a business.
The keynote speakers included Akech M. Kamich, Entrepreneur and President South-Sudan Student Association, Prof Carl Oshodi, ISIBOR, CEO, AI-Group Inc. Holdings (Rwanda), and Julius B. Peretomode Pioneer/Founder. Phlaims Africa, Amb. Tega Osama, Evowas Youth Ambassador-CEO AMZ Stitches (UK), Wisdom Aghoghovwia, Founder Crypto Education for Africa (Nigeria), Cool, Monalisa and many experts joined online from African countries.
They shared the mantra of business success, highlighting the entrepreneurship and economic growth and right mindset and attitude towards building a successful and sustainable business. Three sessions of panel discussions were organized on various related issues on entrepreneurship where participants actively engaged themselves in the discussions. Julius, Rennie and Shigambe Gaji coordinated the Thrive Summit-2024.
