Colourful function marks Baisakhi at RBU

Mohali : The Rayat Bahra University, School of Education and Social Sciences, under the esteemed patronage of Honorable Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra and Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Parvinder Singh, joyously celebrated the Baisakhi Festival. The event served as a vibrant platform to showcase the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Punjab.
Baisakhi, a significant festival in the Punjabi calendar, was marked with traditional fervour and enthusiasm, highlighting the essence of Punjab’s cultural tapestry. The event featured various traditional elements, including folk music, dance performances, culinary delights, and colorful attire, all emblematic of Punjab’s vibrant heritage.
Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra expressed his delight at the festivities, emphasizing the importance of such events in promoting cultural diversity and harmony within the university community. Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Parvinder Singh echoed these sentiments, lauding the efforts of all involved in organizing a successful and memorable celebration.
Dr Inderpreet Kaur Dean (USSS) said that The Baisakhi Festival not only served as a cultural extravaganza but also as a testament to the university’s commitment to providing a holistic academic experience that embraces diversity and promotes cultural awareness. Through events like these, the University School of Education and Social Sciences aims to create an inclusive and culturally rich academic environment conducive to holistic learning and personal growth.

ਰਿਆਤ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਆਫ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਐਂਡ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼ ਵਿਖੇ ਵਿਸਾਖੀ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਧੂਮਧਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਅਮੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਜੀਵੰਤ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕੈਲੰਡਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਵਿਸਾਖੀ ਨੂੰ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਿਆਤ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਪ੍ਰਸਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਡਾ.ਪਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕ ਸੰਗੀਤ, ਨ੍ਰਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਰੰਗੀਨ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਸਮੇਤ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪਰੰਪਰਾਗਤ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਜੀਵੰਤ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਹਨ।
ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਇਜ਼ਹਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਜੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਵਿਭਿੰਨਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਭਾਵਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਹੈ। ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਡਾ.ਪਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਫਲ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਦਗਾਰੀ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੇ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਡਾ: ਇੰਦਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਡੀਨ (ਯੂ.ਐੱਸ.ਐੱਸ.ਐੱਸ.) ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਸਾਖੀ ਫੈਸਟੀਵਲ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਉਤਸਵ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਗੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ ਵਜੋਂ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਵਿਭਿੰਨਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
