3-day annual athletics meet kickstarts at Rayat Bahra International School

Mohali : The 3-day annual athletics meet got off to a grand start at Rayat Bahra International School (RBIS)Mohali. Olympian Rupinder pal Singh (Indian Hockey Team) was the chief guest of the meet. Gurvinder Singh Bahra chancellor Rayat Bahra University was also present on this occasion. During the athletics meet, students from different houses of the school participated in an impressive march past.
The chief guest in his address inspired the students to maintain discipline in the school. He said that sports are very important for the full development of a child at an early age because the sportsman teaches us discipline, teamwork and the commitment to win. Before this, the principal of the school Madam Abhilasha Singh welcomed the guests and gave information about the achievements of the school.
During these annual athletics meet, the students presented an impressive show of obstacle races and aerobatics exercises and display of various activities. A cultural fiesta presented by the students and their parents was a highlight of the celebrations wherein all participated with gay abandon.
The chief guest awarded gold, silver and bronze medals to the students who performed well in various competitions of each sports category. During the event, students as well as their parents also participated in various activities and programs, which were the center of attraction.
Apart from others, faculty members of RBIS and Rayat Bahra University were also present on this occasion. Abhilasha Singh, Principal of the School, proposed a vote of thanks and conveyed her best wishes to the students and the staff members.
