Cultural fiesta by African students at RBU

Mohali : African Students Association of Rayat Bahra University (RB-ASA) celebrated the International Students Cultural Program-2024. Various cultural items including dancing, songs, comedy and fashion walk were presented by the African Students to showcase their culture and heritage.
Hellen from Tanzania won the title of Miss RB ASA-2024; Augustine from Liberia won the title of Mr. RB ASA-2024; Tendia from Malawi was declared first runner up; Elnidro from Angola got First runner up trophy. Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra crowned the winners.
Rennie, Shigambe, and Julius coordinated the event very well. Speaking on the occasion, Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra stated that the university always supports and promotes inclusion and diversity in academic and professional courses. He congratulated the winners for winning various titles with their spectacular performances.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh appreciated the efforts put in by international students to bring together African students from across the state to celebrate their cultural diversity. He said cultural diversity is particularly noteworthy as a means of embracing and respecting the lifestyles of others and hence fostering harmonious coexistence in society.
Director of International Affairs Prof Simerjit Kaur stated that a comprehensive set of ingrained and widely held values, customs, and beliefs that foster social cohesion is called culture. No matter where in the world you study, you will inevitably meet and get to know new groups of individuals from various cultures and backgrounds as the world continues to become more globalised, she added.
