Punjabis to think about their future by staying in Punjab: Professor Arvind
Degree distribution ceremony of academic session 2021-22 held at Government College Ropar

Rupnagar : Punjabis should think about their future by staying in Punjab instead of going abroad for study as well as for work. These words were expressed by Vice Chancellor Patiala University Professor Arvind on the occasion of degree distribution ceremony of academic session 2021-22 held at open theatre of Government College Ropar.
While addressing the students and faculty members, he pointed out that the great achievements in Punjab after the Green Revolution and emphasized the need to sit together to solve the challenges that arose after that. Government educational institutions have to be strengthened to provide world-class higher education he said adding that right and skill based education is single way to generate jobs for coming generation and it could be achieved with the budget of Rs 400 to 500 crores.
Professor Arvind further mentioned the growing role of women power in the present era for a conscious society. He said that it is matter of pride that most of students who received degrees on this holy occassion were girls.
It demonstrated that our social system has been continuously transformed for the betterment of daughters. Government College Principal Jatinder Singh while introducing the Chief Guest Professor Arvind said that it is a matter of great honour for us to award degrees to our students by a renowned personality of the world.
He also presented a report about the proud achievements of the college. Registrar Prof. Meena Kumari said that during the degree distribution ceremony of the session 2021-22, 128 stusents of BA, 107 of B.Sc. (Medical / Non Medical), Commerce 63, 09 B.C.A. , 11 M.A. (Punjabi / English / Political Science), a total of 318 students have been awarded with degrees.
On this occasion, the registrar of Lemrin Tech Skills University and former professor of the college. B.S. Satyal, Dr. Rupinder Kaur, Mrs. Harinder Saini, Advocate Charanjit Singh Ghai and District Public Relations Officer Mr. Karan Mehta were honoured by Govt College.
