Dr. Anshu Kataria graces All India Sangeet Sammelan as Guest of Honour

Chandigarh : In a musical delight for Tricity residents, the Pracheen Kala Kendra (PKK), a strong proponent of Indian classical arts, hosted the 52nd edition of the annual All-India Bhaskar Rao Nritya and Sangeet Sammelan. Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA); Fderation of Self Financing Technical Instituitions (FSFTI) & Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges & Dr. Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group were Guests of Honour.

Prominent among the participating icons of music were Prasad Khaparde (Vocal), Geeta Mahalik (Odishi dance), Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan (sitar), Rukmini Vijaykumar (Bharatnatyam) Pandit Satish Vyas (santoor), Pt Chetan Joshi (flute), Pandita Anuradha Pal (tabla), Kumar Sharma (Kathak dance), Pt Dharam Nath Mishra, Mithilesh Jha, Azad Ali Khan.

Dr. Kataria congratulated entire team of Pracheen Kala Kendra & while appreciating their efforts said that the Kendra has been organising the festival for the past more than five decades now and has groomed many a legend in their respective fields. “The sammelan is an impassioned endeavour by the Kendra to give a fillip to music with Vocal, Instrumental and Nritya, he added.
On the occasion Dr. Kataria honoued internationally renowned Padamshree Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan who gave a ‘sitar’ recital. It is to be mentioned that the Kendra, established in 1956 has been engaged in the promotion, preservation, and dissemination of Indian classical arts as well as imparting education, training, and conducting examinations in the field of performing and visual arts since its inception.
