CGC Landran organises International Conference on Computational Methods in Science & Technology

Landran : The third edition of ‘International Conference on Computational Methods in Science & Technology’ was inaugurated at CGC Landran, today. Being organised by the departments of CSE and IT Engineering, CEC, CGC Landran, the two-day event is being sponsored by AICTE.

The conference aims to promote fundamental and applied research while exploring ways in which it can be utilized to solve pressing real life problems. Souvenirs to mark the occasion were also released by the dignitaries.

The conference saw 250-plus paper submissions with over 50 papers being selected for presentation.Prof. (Dr.) Shyam Sundar Pattnaik, Director, NITTTR, Chandigarh presided over as the chief guest on day one of the conference.

He was accompanied by the guest of honour, Dr. Satish Kumar, Chief Scientist, Centre of Excellence for ISenS, CVSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh, Dr. P.N Hrisheekesha Campus Director, CGC Landran and other dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pattnaik shared his views on computation methods explaining in detail the concepts of modelling & simulation. Calling the students harbingers of change, he encouraged them to utilize their creative thinking and research potential to come up with unique innovative solutions for real time problems.

He underscored the importance of synchronizing research with product market development. Dr. Pattnaik also enlightened the audience about the latest developments in research pertaining to virtual reality, augmented reality, metaverse, holography among others.

Post this; the audience was addressed by Dr Satish Kumar who emphasised the importance of change, in the technological context while highlighting the need for researchers and engineers to have multidisciplinary knowledge in order to bring about positive change using technology and science.

He also spoke about Artificial Intelligence, drone technology, role of data analytics, multi-sensing technology among others. Being held in the hybrid mode, ICCMST 2022 will see the participation of experts drawn from renowned international institutions.

These will comprise keynote international speakers including, Prof.(Dr.) Ahmed A. Elngar, Head of Computer Sciences Department, Faculty of Computers & Artificial Intelligence, Beni-Suef  University, Egypt and Prof.(Dr.) Daniel D. Dasig Jr., Professor, College of Science and Computer Studies De La Salle University, Dasmariñas, Philippines, among others.
