Bandipora: Bandipora District Administration on Sunday paid glowing tributes to the father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi, who was martyred on this day in 1948.The officers and officials assembled at Mini secretariat Bandipora under the leadership of DC Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad and observed two minute silence as a mark of respect for the father of the nation.
The day of martyrdom is celebrated as Martyrs Day in the whole country.The participants, while paying tribute to the martyrs, resolved to fight against all forms of violence and terrorism and will preach peace, tolerance, and brotherhood.Similar functions were held in District Police Lines, Bandipora, and all other Police Establishments of the District and also at sub divisional level.
