Eastern Bypass Road Proposed to Ease Traffic in Panipat: Ranbir Gangwa
Haryana Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Minister, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa said that the government is continuously making efforts to resolve the growing traffic congestion in Panipat city. The Minister was responding to a question during the ongoing Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
He said that the existing elevated highway on NH-44 provides smooth movement for main highway traffic. The existing Panipat–Rohtak section of NH-709 and the Panipat–Shamli section of NH-709AD serve as a western bypass for Panipat city.
The Minister further said that, further a 10-meter-wide road of 11.20 Km length has already been constructed on the Banks of Drain No. 2 from Barsat road to Sanauli road and it is proposed to construct the balance road of 2.90 Km length on this bank which will connect NH-44 (Delhi to Ambala) with NH-709AD (Panipat to Shamli) and will act as Eastern By-pass of Panipat City. The government has granted administrative approval for Rs. 3,207.05 lakh.
For further process, PWD (B&R) has sent the case to the Forest Department for obtaining NOC. The work will start after approval from the Forest Department.
