‘Two Drops of Life’ administered to over 34,000 children in Kishtwar district

The Nationwide Pulse Polio Immunization Drive was conducted across Kishtwar District, achieving significant coverage among children aged 0-5 years. During the drive, 34,920 out of 38,554 targeted children were successfully administered the oral polio vaccine, achieving an impressive 90.57% coverage.

The immunization campaign was carried out through 370 strategically positioned Polio Booths and 3 transit camps, including key locations such as Kishtwar Bus Stand, Gulabgarh Bus Stand, and Chatroo Bus Stand. A dedicated team of 1,480 workers and 74 supervisors ensured smooth operations, reaching even the remotest areas of the district, including Marwah, Warwan, Gandhari, and Machail.

The Booth Day activities successfully covered a substantial portion of the targeted children. The momentum of the campaign will continue with House-to-House immunization drives on 22nd and 23rd December 2025, aiming to cover any remaining children as part of mop-up rounds.

The drive was launched by Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma in presence of CMO Dr. Yudhvir Singh Kotwal, BMO Dr. Anil Sharma, and other senior health officials.
