Paying homage to the immortal martyrdoms of Sikh history, a grand inauguration of a free bus service dedicated to the unparalleled sacrifice of the Four Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji was held today from the North constituency under the initiative of social worker and BJP leader Akshay Sharma.
On this historic and emotional occasion, Akshay Sharma personally flagged off the first batch of pilgrims from Sri Amritsar Sahib to Sri Fatehgarh Sahib.This special service will continue from December 20 to December 27, during which different batches of devotees will be sent daily to Sri Fatehgarh Sahib for the Shaheedi Sabha.
The initiative received an overwhelming response on the very first day, with 45 buses carrying more than 2,000 devotees to Sri Fatehgarh Sahib.The massive participation of the sangat proved that the martyrdom of the Guru Sahibans remains alive in the hearts of the people even today, and that faith continues to guide humanity towards the path of truth, courage and sacrifice.
Addressing the gathering with deep emotion, Akshay Sharma said that the martyrdom of the Four Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji is not only a source of inspiration for the Sikh community but for entire humanity. He emphasized that this service has been initiated not by considering religion or class, but with the sole aim of paying true tribute to the Gurus and connecting the younger generation with history.
He added that the core objective of this initiative is to steer youth away from drugs and distractions and inspire them to walk on the path of truth, sacrifice and righteousness shown by the Gurus.The journey has been designed not merely as travel, but as an educational and inspirational experience.
During the four-hour journey, a film based on the Four Sahibzadas is being screened in the buses, along with narrations by historians on their martyrdom and sacrifices, enabling devotees—especially students—to understand and imbibe these values in their lives.
Keeping in mind the comfort and safety of the devotees, special arrangements have been made for ambulances, medical facilities, food and refreshments, seating arrangements and time-bound operations. The entire pilgrimage is being conducted with a strong spirit of service and discipline.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude to the sangat, Akshay Sharma said that the trust and devotion shown by the people towards this initiative is his greatest strength. He appealed to the devotees not to limit this journey only to darshan, but to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of the Gurus and adopt the values of truth, service and humanity in their daily lives.
On this occasion, a large number of devotees, local sewadars, social workers and youth were present, making the initiative historic and memorable. BJP leaders Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Pappu Mahajan were also present and sought the blessings of the Guru Sahib.
