Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today visited various parts of the town to inspect the vital and high footfall roads and analysed the scope of widening. DC took a detailed review of important stretches and directed the concerned officers to ensure timely submission of road widening proposals in the town especially leading to District Hospital and Jamia Masjid.
He emphasized on the widening of these roads leading to the District Hospital, stating that smooth connectivity to the hospital is of prime importance for facilitating patient care and emergency services.
During the visit, DC also interacted with local residents and assured them that the administration is committed to improving civic amenities and easing traffic congestion in the town. DC was accompanied by GM DIC, Shurjil Naikoo; Tehsildar Shopian, CEO MC, Xen R&B and other officers and officials.
