Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer and Surjeet Singh Garhi Honoured by Akali Workers of Ghanaur

In a show of unity and enthusiasm, Shiromani Akali Dal workers of Halka Ghanaur today held a special program to honour Youth Akali Dal President Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer and SGPC member Surjeet Singh Garhi for their recent appointments within the party. The function took place at Village Pabri, Circle Sehra, and saw participation from senior leaders, local office-bearers, and grassroots workers of the party.
Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer was felicitated on being re-appointed as the National President of the Youth Akali Dal and also for being inducted into the Working Committee of the Shiromani Akali Dal—marking a significant milestone in his second tenure at the helm of the youth wing. Known for his energetic leadership and strong grassroots connect, Jhinjer has played a pivotal role in mobilising the youth across Punjab and amplifying their voice on key social and political issues.
Surjeet Singh Garhi, an active and respected SGPC member from the region, was also honoured for his induction into the Working Committee of the Shiromani Akali Dal. Garhi’s consistent service to the Sikh Panth and dedication to panthic values has earned him this important responsibility within the party’s central decision-making body.
Addressing the gathering, Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer expressed deep gratitude to the party workers and senior leadership. “I am eternally grateful for this honour by all the senior party workers. I assure you that in this second tenure, I will work twice as hard for the betterment of the Party, Punjab, and the Sikh Panth.
The Youth Akali Dal will continue to raise its voice for the concerns of the people and expose the failures of the current government at every level.”He emphasised that the Shiromani Akali Dal is the only true regional party of Punjab, founded with the blessings of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and born from the soul of the state.
“As a party shaped by Sikh values, it is not only our political duty but also our spiritual responsibility to protect and promote Sikhi,” he said. He added that efforts are being made to reconnect the youth with their roots through the ‘Meri Dastar Meri Shaan’ campaign, encouraging Sikh youth to embrace their identity with pride.
Jhinjer further announced the launch of ‘Youth Miln 2.0’, an initiative aimed at engaging with the youth of Punjab more directly and extensively. “We will reach out to colleges, towns, and villages across the state to take the party’s message to the masses.
Youth plays a decisive role in shaping any government, and our goal is to bring their energy into the mainstream movement to protect Punjab’s future,” he stated. Speaking on the occasion, Surjeet Singh Garhi thanked the workers for their blessings and reiterated his commitment to serve with honesty and dedication.
He said the Akali Dal has always stood for the values of justice, Sikh identity, and Punjab’s honour, and he would work diligently to uphold those ideals in his new role. The event concluded with a collective pledge by all workers to strengthen the Shiromani Akali Dal at the grassroots and gear up for the upcoming challenges under the leadership of S. Sukhbir Singh Badal and the dynamic youth force led by Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer.
