Jasvir Singh Garhi directs police to resolve issue related to SC family within 72 hours

Chairman Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes, Mr Jasvir Singh Garhi visited the town today to enquire into the case of alleged atrocity committed on a Tapa based family from SC community. The chairman met complainant as well as alleged accused in the case. 

Talking to media persons he said that Pritam Singh had alleged some people of using derogatory casteist language against him. Mr Garhi added that the row is some land area. Mr Garhi also met the people against whom allegations have been levied. 

Mr Garhi directed the officials of Barnala police to ensure that both the factions are listened to patiently and the issue is resolved within next 72 hours. Addressing the media persons he said that under the stewardship of Chief Minister Mr  Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab govenrment was committed to ensure that the SC community in state has equal rights and opportunities. 

He added that under no circumstances shall the propel from SC community be allowed to face any act of inequality or atrocity. District Welfare Officer Gurinderjit Singh, Tehsildar Avtat Singh, SP Rajesh Chhibber and other officials were present.
