Roads in the Khanauri, Moonak areas to be revitalized at a cost of approximately Rs 55 cr: Barinder Kumar Goyal

Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is working tirelessly for the state’s development. As part of this mission, development works are being carried out on a war footing in the Lehra Assembly constituency, with no efforts spared to transform it into a model constituency. 

In this context, roads in the Khanauri and Moonak areas are being revitalized at an estimated cost of ₹55 crore. These views were expressed by Cabinet Minister Mr. Barinder Kumar Goyal during the foundation stone laying ceremony for Rs 1.35 cr to renovate the 6.78 km road from Hamirgarh to Mandvi and for Rs 1.01 cr project to widen the Patran-Khanauri road upto Canal Bank Bhakra from 10 feet to 18 feet at Khanauri.

On the occasion, the Cabinet Minister stated that, keeping public safety in mind, railings have been installed along the Bhakra Canal at a cost of around Rs 3 crore. He mentioned that during previous protests in the Khanauri area, traffic had to be diverted through village roads, resulting in their severe deterioration. However, now no road will be left unrepaired or unrenovated.

The Minister further informed that three new bridges will soon be constructed at various locations in the region, with a combined cost of approximately ₹22 crore. These will greatly ease transportation difficulties for the people. He also instructed officials to ensure that all projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe.
