Punjab Postal Circle Hosts Workshop on IT Modernization 2.0 in Amritsar to Enhance Digital Readiness

Punjab Postal Circle hosted a workshop on “Preparedness for I.T 2.0” at Amritsar on 20.06.2025. The programme was led by Sh. Subrat Das, Member (Technology) Postal Services Board, Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India.IT Modernization Project 2.0 is a comprehensive digital transformation initiative aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, service delivery and financial inclusion with the Department of Posts.

The workshop discussed various aspects, including understanding I. T. Roll out, developing effective strategies, and leveraging them for specific purposes like preparedness for roll out, infrastructure readiness, capacity building etc. Overall, the workshop served as a valuable learning experience, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to navigate the migration process effectively. 

A team from Postal Directorate, Officers from Centre of Excellence for Postal Technology (CEPT), Head of Circles along with Postmaster Generals and Director Postal Services (HQ) from 08 circles viz. Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, participated in the workshop.

Sh. Vinod Kumar Verma, Chief Postmaster General, Punjab Circle stated that the implementation of IT 2.0 Project will be carried out in a phased manner. In the 1st phase, post offices under Chandigarh Head Post Office and Jalandhar City Head Post Office will be covered. The event was highly appreciated by all the participants and the stakeholders.
