To augment drinking water access in rural areas, Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh today flagged off a newly procured water tanker to Sub Division Gandoh. The flag-off ceremony was held at the DC Office Complex.
The initiative is part of the district administration’s ongoing efforts to address water shortage in remote and hilly areas, especially during the summer months. The water tanker will be operated by the Jal Shakti Department and is expected to serve multiple villages within the Sub Division Gandoh, improving access to potable water.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Anil Kumar Thakur, SE Jal Shakti, and Executive Engineer PHE Gandoh were also present during the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized the administration’s commitment to equitable development and assured that more such initiatives will be taken in the future to strengthen essential services in far-flung areas. He also directed the Jal Shakti Department to ensure proper monitoring of water tanker deployment for maximum benefit to the public.
