DC Vikas Kundal reviews progress of Tourism Development initiatives in Poonch

Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal today chaired a comprehensive meeting to review the progress of promotional activities and infrastructure development in the tourism sector in the district.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed appraisal of the physical and financial progress of ongoing works being executed by the Tourism Department, Poonch Development Authority (PDA) and the Public Works Department (R&B) in the three subdivisions of Poonch, Surankote and Mendhar.
The meeting focused on key developmental initiatives including the establishment of new Tourist Reception Centres (TRCs), Eco Parks, Tourism Parks, Children Parks, and the beautification of prominent tourist destinations.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for a strong and sustainable tourism infrastructure to boost footfall, generate livelihood opportunities, and contribute to the local economy. He directed the concerned officers to expedite the pace of ongoing works and prioritize projects that would have a significant impact on tourism promotion in the district.
The meeting was attended by ACD Poonch, Executive Engineers of PWD (R&B) from Poonch, Surankote and Mendhar along with officers from the PDA and Tourism Department.
