‘Easy Property Registration’ to begin in Jalandhar within a week

Punjab Horticulture and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat on Tuesday announced that the Easy Property Registration service will become operational in Jalandhar within a week. The Minister, accompanied by Sub Divisional Magistrate Randeep Singh Heer, inspected the ongoing preparations at the Sub Registrar Office and directed officials of the revenue department to ensure timely completion of all pending work.

Calling the initiative a revolutionary reform, Mr. Bhagat said the new system will eliminate the need for people to visit multiple offices or rely on agents and middlemen. “This citizen-centric reform will make property registration simple, fast, and transparent. The entire process will be digital—from documentation to registration—minimizing delays, ensuring fairness, and curbing corruption,” he stated.

The Minister also disclosed that modern amenities such as air-conditioned waiting halls and token display LED screens will be installed in Sub Registrar Offices across the state to enhance public comfort. He emphasized that deed writers officially appointed by the state government will be available at nominal charges, enabling citizens to receive professional assistance without exploitation.

Mr. Bhagat said that the Punjab Government is committed to making governance more accessible and efficient through technology-driven services. The Easy Property Registration project, he noted, will set a benchmark in streamlining public service delivery in the revenue sector.
