Punjab Congress President Raja Warring Asserts Merit-Based Politics During Kharar-Majri Block Meeting

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring held a key meeting today with office-bearers of the Kharar and Majri Block Congress Committees under the Kharar Assembly constituency. The meeting, held at Tanveer Restaurant Kurali, focused on strengthening the party’s grassroots presence and ensuring clarity in leadership roles.
During the interaction, Raja Warring made it unequivocally clear that no Assembly constituency in Punjab belongs to any individual or faction. He emphasized that only those who work with honesty, dedication, and commitment to the party’s cause will be considered for positions and election tickets.
Citing his own example from the Gidderbaha constituency, where he broke the hold of entrenched political dominance, Warring urged workers to align with party principles rather than personalities.He also directed block presidents to mobilize local workers and ensure strict adherence to upcoming party programs and objectives.
Highlighting the road to the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, he said the party must now focus on building robust committees at booth and mandal levels to ensure Congress returns to power with full strength. Block-level leaders presented key issues and offered suggestions for strengthening the party.
Warring assured that the party’s decisions would prioritize commitment and loyalty over self-interest. District Congress President Ranjit Singh Jeeti Padyala and Kharar Constituency In-Charge Vijay Sharma Tinku briefed the gathering on ongoing party activities across the district and constituency.
Prominent attendees included Captain Sandeep Sandhu, Former minister Jagmohan Singh Kang, Kharar Coordinator Rajwant Rai Sharma, Kamal Kishore Sharma, District Mahila Congress President Swarnjit Kaur, Congress Secretary Rakesh Kalia, Majri Block Presidents Madan Singh Mankpur Sharif and Ranjit Singh Naglia.
Other present leaders were Ramakant Kalia, City Congress President Dinesh Gautam, Hans Raj Boothgarh, and Harnek Singh Takipur.The meeting reaffirmed the Congress leadership’s resolve to prepare the party for a formidable comeback in 2027 by fostering unity, discipline, and grassroots engagement.
