Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu and SSP Visit Rehabilitation Centre

Under the ongoing “Yudh Nashian De Virudh” campaign initiated by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu and SSP Mr. Gurmeet Singh today visited the Rehabilitation Centre at Jattwali. During the visit, they reviewed the available facilities and interacted with the patients undergoing treatment, encouraging and motivating them on their journey toward recovery.

Deputy Commissioner Ms. Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu directed health department officials to give special focus to the counselling of patients and to inspire them toward healthy habits. She emphasized involving the patients in creative and engaging activities during their treatment to keep them motivated to quit substance abuse.

SSP Mr. Gurmeet Singh addressed the youth present at the centre, reminding them that life is precious and that their families love and need them. He urged them to leave behind addiction and lead a joyful and purposeful life. DC and SSP also interacted with patients visiting the OOAT Clinic for medication.

The DC and SSP also reviewed the functioning of the OOAT Clinic and emphasized that those coming for treatment should be cared for in a positive and supportive environment, ensuring their early and complete recovery from drug addiction. On this occasion, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Eric informed that the Health Department is running Drug De-addiction Centres at Abohar and Fazilka, and a Rehabilitation Centre at Jattwali. 

Additionally, OOAT Clinics are operational where medicines are provided without hospital admission. He assured that the identity of patients undergoing treatment at any of these centres is kept confidential and all services are completely free of charge.

Rehabilitation Centre Manager Mr. Sandeep Chopra was also present during the visit.
