Aravalli jungle safari to make Haryana a new hub of eco-tourism says Rao Narbir Singh

Haryana Environment, Forest, and Wildlife Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, said that the state government has prepared a plan for a Jungle Safari and the Aravalli Green Wall Project in the Aravalli region. The aim of this project is not only to promote eco-tourism but also to conserve biodiversity, wildlife and provide employment opportunities to the local people.
Aravalli Green Wall: A widespread environmental initiative across four states
He said that the Aravalli range is one of the oldest mountain ranges in India and spread across Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Delhi, covering an area of 1.15 million hectares. The central government has entrusted Haryana with the responsibility of implementing the ‘Aravalli Green Wall Project’ and developing the Jungle Safari, which will prove to be a milestone from the environmental point of view.
Rao Narbir Singh said that in today’s time, when the world is facing climate change and pollution, protecting the environment has become a global concern. He said that only by being sensitive to nature and wildlife can we maintain environmental balance.
Many young individuals and private organisations are now taking part in wildlife conservation, which is further strengthening the government’s efforts, he added.
Project inspired by initiatives in Nagpur and Jamnagar
The Minister said that this project was earlier under the tourism department, but as per the directions of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, it has now been handed over to the forest department. He himself has visited the Gorewada Safari in Nagpur and the Vantara project in Gujarat for inspiration.
The goal is to have this mega project inaugurated by Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi.
Environmental benefits alongside employment opportunities
Through the Aravalli Green Wall Project, afforestation of indigenous species, soil health will be improved, groundwater will be recharged, and biodiversity will be preserved. This will not only benefit Haryana’s environment but also provide local youth employment opportunities as ‘Van Mitras’.
