Maiden DLIC meeting under Mission YUVA held at Kulgam

In a major step towards youth empowerment and livelihood generation, the first District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) meeting under Mission YUVA was held today in Kulgam under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan.
During the meeting, the committee approved 31 cases of young aspiring entrepreneurs from across the district, paving the way for financial assistance and capacity-building support under Mission YUVA.
The selected cases reflect a diverse range of sectors underscoring the potential of local youth to contribute meaningfully to the district’s economic development. It was informed that Mission YUVA is a flagship initiative of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir designed to create a robust ecosystem for youth-led entrepreneurship.
The mission aims to provide end-to-end support including skill development, financial assistance, mentorship, and market linkages to unemployed and aspiring youth. Speaking at the occasion, DC lauded the enthusiasm and proactive participation of local youth in availing this opportunity.
He emphasized the importance of timely fund disbursement and post-approval mentoring for the sustainability of projects. The meeting witnessed the participation of all DLIC & SBDU members and other officials of DE&CC Kulgam.
Each case was thoroughly reviewed on the basis of viability, sectoral relevance and readiness of the applicants. Brief overview of the applications received and the screening process conducted at SBDU level was presented before the chair.
