Say always indebted to Sant-Samaj for their guidance to fight social evils

Seeking blessing of Sant-Samaj to further bolster the ongoing campaign against drugs, Member Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal and MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar solicited fulsome support from people for this noble and social cause of drug eradication in the region. The Sant-Samaj fraternity gathered at Gurdwara Banah Sahib in Bahowal village falling in Chabbewal constituency, where an Ardaas was taken place to wipe out menace of drugs efficaciously.
Both the MP and MLA also urged the people to extend fulsome support in this endeavour of ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ campaign of Punjab Government so as to encourage youngsters towards sports and other positive activities resulting in bringing laurels for the State at national and international level.
Member Parliament Dr. Chabbewal said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government was making all out efforts to eradicate the drug menace across the state. Under ongoing campaign, big fishes, who indulged in the drug peddling have already been put in jails while the addicted youngsters would be taken to rehabilitation centers in the state.
He said the religious organisations and religious personalities had always played a pivotal role against social menaces and now it is the high time to launch collective efforts so that the trend of drugs could be contained in larger interest of the society and younger generations. Referring to the contribution of Sant-Samaj in making Punjab a land of the great gurus, Dr. Chabbewal said that the efforts were being made against drugs.
He said that the Punjab Police arrested 15,861 culprits indulged in drugs trade. He said that more than 200 police teams consisting of more than 1500 police personnel under the supervision of 101 gazetted officers were carrying out raids across the state.
Local MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar said that constant efforts were being made to ensure development as well as brush aside the menace drugs. He said it was a pious and significant occasion, when Sant-Samaj gave assurance to push the efforts against drugs.
He also gave a call to people to come forward against this social problem so that youngsters could not fall prey to drugs. He said that Punjab Government and Punjab Police had already given directions for strict action against those indulged in the drug trade.
Appealing to the youngsters, Dr. Ishank Kumar said that the State Government had made elaborated arrangements at rehabilitation centres for treatment of people fell prey to drugs. He also appealed those facing quagmire of drugs to get their treatment started at such centres to lead a healthy and mainstream life.
They both said that they were highly indebted to the Sant-Samaj for their blessings to tackle this social problem efficaciously. They also exhorted the other social and other organisations to join the campaign for making the region completely drug free.
