Mukesh Agnihotri announces relief in bus pass fare for students of private schools

The parents of children studying in private schools in Shimla met Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today to apprise him about various problems including recently increased bus pass fare. The Deputy Chief Minister informed that earlier there were two slabs for bus pass fare including Rs 1800 for 0 to 5 kilometers and Rs 2500 for distance more than 5 kilometers. 

He said now three slabs have been created to give relief to the students studying in the private schools in Shimla city. Under the first slab, the fare has been reduced by Rs 600 to Rs 1200 for the distance from 0 to 6 kilometers. 

The distance has been increased by one kilometer under first slab which earlier was 0 t0 5 kilometers. Under second slab, the fare has been reduced by Rs 700 and fixed at Rs 1800 for the distance from 6 to 12 kilometers, while under third slab, now the fare of bus pass for distance more than 12 km will be Rs 2000.

The Deputy Chief Minister also announced that very soon the facility of bus pass for students will be made available online, so that parents do not need to visit offices. He said that Himachal Road Transport Corporation is providing services in the state with the spirit of public welfare and this decision is an important step towards fulfilling the same objective.

The parents expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Chief Minister and appreciated this step. Managing Director, HRTC Dr. Nipun Jindal, senior officers of the corporation and a large number of parents of students of private schools were present on this occasion.
