Complete work of International Horticulture Market by June 2026, Shyam Singh Rana tells officials

Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Sh. Shyam Singh Rana directed the officials to complete the development works in the International Horticulture Market, Ganaur (Sonipat) by June 30, 2026 so that the market can be started.Sh. Rana was reviewing the development works going on in the International Horticulture Market here today.
On this occasion, the Agriculture Minister told the officials that this market will prove to be especially beneficial for the farmers of Haryana, as fruits and vegetables can be sold in the international market. He said it is estimated that 20 lakh tonnes of horticultural produce will be traded in this market every year, and farmers of the state will get the facility to sell their horticultural and agricultural produce at one place.
This will increase the income of farmers. He informed that this mandi will provide international-level marketing facility to the fruit and vegetable producers to increase their agricultural income.Sh. Shyam Singh Rana was informed that the area of this mandi is 554 acres and 17 international-level sheds and 13 buildings are being constructed in this mandi.
All these sheds have been identified for different horticultural products which mainly include mango, banana, apple, watermelon and other mixed fruits. Apart from these, construction work is underway for tomato, onion and other various vegetables, flowers, fish and meat, and foreign pavilion as well as sheds for farmers.
It was also informed in the meeting that the construction work of 13 buildings such as Kisan Vishram Griha, workshop, police station, taxi stand, retail zone, institution building, etc. is in progress.The minister reviewed the ongoing road construction, parking work and rain water drainage and sewerage system in the International Horticulture Market and directed the officers to speed up the work.
Additional Chief Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department Sh. Raja Sekhar Vundru, Managing Director of HIHMCL Sh. Mukul Kumar, Chief Engineer Sh. Mohinder Singh and other departmental officers were present in the meeting.
