MLAs carry Nasha Mukti Yatra in constituencies, seek people’ support

MLAs of the district on Tuesday continued Nasha Mukti Yatra across their constituencies as part of the Punjab Government’s Yudh Nashya Virudh campaign. This dynamic grassroots movement, which drew hundreds of residents, aims to unite people in a collective fight to eradicate the drug menace and secure a healthier future for the state.

Legislators including Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal, Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina, Jiwan Singh Sangowal, Manwinder Singh Giaspura, Hakam Singh Thekedar, and others issued a unified call to action, emphasizing the campaign’s role in empowering communities. “The Nasha Mukti Yatra is a people’s movement to reclaim Punjab from the grip of drugs,” they declared.

They urged residents to report drug peddlers anonymously via the dedicated helpline 97791-00200 and to guide those struggling with addiction toward free rehabilitation services offered by the state. Echoing Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s stern warning to drug traffickers either abandon trade or face severe consequences, the MLAs rallied hundreds of residents to take a solemn pledge to remain drug-free and actively support the campaign.
