Accelerating Growth Of State With Pro-People And Development Oriented Policies : Bhagwant Singh Mann

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday said that the state government has created a history by launching several pro-people and development oriented policies to put the state further on the path of high trajectory of economic growth.   

Addressing the gathering after dedicating projects worth Rs 13 crore to the people, the Chief Minister said that these projects have been launched by ensuring the accountability of the officers and the contractors who have constructed these projects. 

He said that the projects have been conceived while keeping in view the larger public interests on one hand and to give fillip to the ongoing development of the state on the other. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that there is no dearth of funds for such development works and more such projects will be dedicated to the public in the coming days.  

Announcing to make Buddha Nullah completely pollution free, the Chief Minister said that the state government has already set the wheels in motion for this noble cause. Quoting verse ‘Pawan Guru, Paani Pitaah, Mata Dharat Mahat’ from Gurbani, he said that the great Gurus have equated air (pawan) with teacher, water (paani) with father and land (dharat) with mother. 

He said that the state government is following the footsteps of great Sikh Gurus to reduce pollution and make the state clean, green and pollution free.In a significant move to support youth empowerment, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of eight UPSC coaching centers in Punjab with one of these centers to be opened in Ludhiana. 

He said that each center will be equipped with a library, hostel and other essential facilities to provide quality training for competitive examinations. Bhagwant Singh Mann stressed that these centers will ensure that Punjab’s youth are well-prepared to excel in national-level exams.

The Chief Minister said that in Democracy government is of the people, for the people and by the people but these days it has become a trend to muzzle the voice of opposition. Citing the example of a garden, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that a bouquet has a variety of flowers that always fascinate people due to which they love to see it. 

In the same manner, he said that in democracy the voice of everyone is important due to which his government does not differentiate while allocating funds for development to every city or village.
