Prominent Kashmiri Poets and Writers Gather to Honor Abdul Rehman Azad’s Legacy

Pulwama (Mudasir Maqbool) : The Sahitya Academy, under the Ministry of Culture, New Delhi Literary Forum, organized a program on the 28th death anniversary of Kashmiri poet, writer, and journalist Abdul Rehman Azad at Azad Manzil, Koil Pulwama. The primary aim of the event was to promote Kashmiri literature and poetry, as the new generation is increasingly leaning towards modern influences.
During the event, notable Kashmiri poets, writers, and journalists from various districts participated to review and discuss Kashmiri literature, poetry, and writing. Eminent personalities highlighted the life and contributions of Abdul Rehman Azad, as well as other significant figures who have greatly contributed to Kashmiri literature.
Several books written by Kashmiri authors were launched during the program by esteemed Kashmiri personalities. Professor Shaad Ramzan emphasized that such programs are crucial as people are drifting away from the Kashmiri language and literature.
He noted that Abdul Rehman Azad made significant contributions to Kashmiri literature, and the academy organized this event at Azad Manzil, Koil Pulwama, to pay homage to the esteemed poet, writer, and journalist on his 28th death anniversary.
