Haryana removes the age limit cap for the Mukhyamantri Kisan Evam Khetihar Mazdoor Jeevan Suraksha Yojana
Now, children younger than 10 years old and persons older than 65 years will also be eligible for benefits under the scheme

Chandigarh : The Haryana government has taken a significant decision to remove the age limit cap for the Mukhyamantri kisan Evam Khetihar Mazdoor Jeevan Suraksha Yojana for farmers, agriculture labourers, and market yard labourers. Now, children younger than 10 years old and persons older than 65 years will also be eligible for benefits under the scheme.
Under this scheme, financial assistance ranging from Rs. 37,500 to Rs. 5 lakh is provided to farmers, agriculture labourers, and market yard labourers in case of death or disability while operating agricultural machinery.
This decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh, held here today to review the projects of the Department of Agriculture, Horticulture, and Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board. Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal also attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister directed the officers to complete all the projects within the specified time frame, without any delays at any level. No tolerance would be tolerated. Trading of apples will also commence in the apple market in Kalka from July 15, said Sh. Nayab Singh.
Atal Canteens are operational in 40 markets of the state, offering nutritious meals for just Rs. 10
The Chief Minister was apprised that Atal Canteens are being operated by the Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board in 40 markets of the state. Any citizen, especially farmers and labourers, can have a healthy meal for just Rs.10 at these canteens. Earlier, these canteens used to operate according to the season, but for the past four months, they have been operational throughout the year.
Haryana Gati Shakti to be created on the lines of PM Gati Shakti to resolve inter-departmental matters
The Chief Minister, while directing the officers said that many projects are implemented late due to non-availability of land or non-approval from other departments. To resolve all such matters, Haryana Gati Shakti should be created in the state on the lines of PM Gati Shakti.
All departments should be brought on this one platform so that whatever projects are there, where more than one department is involved, they can resolve their matters quickly. Also, the issues of the Deputy Commissioner level will also be heard in Haryana Gati Shakti and solutions will be found, said Sh. Nayab Singh.
All the roads of 5 Karam should be paved
It was informed in the meeting that most of the 5 Karam roads going to the fields have been paved, however, there are 490 km of such roads where the width of the 5 Karam roads is less in the middle which are to be paved.
The Chief Minister directed the officers concerned that all such remaining 5 Karam roads should be paved. Besides this, all the roads of the Mandi Board which are in bad condition should be repaired. The tender process should be completed in 10 days by doing proper planning, directed Sh. Nayab Singh.
Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Sh. Ankur Gupta, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Smt. Ashima Brar, Managing Director, Haryana International Horticulture Marketing Corporation, Ganaur, Sh. J. Ganesan, Chief Administrator, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Sh. Mukesh Kumar Ahuja, Director, Agriculture, Sh. Rajnarayan Kaushik, Director General, Horticulture Department Sh. Arjun Singh Saini and Vice-Chancellor, Maharana Pratap Horticulture University, Karnal, Dr. Suresh K. Malhotra, and other officers also remained present in the meeting.
