DC Poonch discusses rationalization of Polling Booths with Political representatives

Poonch : Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet (District Election Officer) today discussed the rationalization of polling stations post delimitation with the representatives of Political parties through a web conference.

In the meeting, the proposals submitted by the three Electoral Registration Officers, including ERO-89-Poonch, Haveli, ERO 88-Surankote, and ERO 90- Mendhar were discussed in detail.After detailed discussion all representatives agreed and signed the draft proposal of rationalization of polling stations unanimously.

Earlier, the District Election Officer had directed the Electoral Registration Officers( EROs) to work out proposals for rationalization of polling stations, wherever necessary strictly as per the norms and timeline set by the Election Commission of India.

The detailed proposals were then handed over to the representatives of Political parties for examining and filing claims/objections( if any) within seven days from the date of publication.
