District Hospital Pulwama conducted its first ever mastoid surgery

Pulwama : An 18 year old female with hearing loss and pus discharge was evaluated in ENT Department of District Hospital(DH) Pulwama. Under National programme for control of deafness mastoid surgery was planned and was successfully completed by the department of ENT. Post operative period remained uneventful.

It is pertinent to mention that it was first ever mastoidectomy done in peripheral hospital setting.The ENT and operation theatre team included Dr Irfan ul Shamas, Dr Ajaz, Mr Bashir Shah, Ms Rafia Jan,Mr Khurshid and Mr Mohd Shaban.

The adminstrative and logistical support was provided by Medical Superintendent Dr BS Tulla, RMO Dr Rafiq and head anaesthesia Dr M Y Tak.Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather has applauded the whole team for such initiative.
