Amritsar : The Architecture Department won the overall championship of the Inter-Departmental Cultural Festival Jashan – 2024 of Guru Nanak Dev University. This festival was concluded here today in the Dasmesh Auditroiuum of the University with the beat of punjabi folk dance gidha. A large number of Student-artists of the various Departments of the University participated in this four-day event. Eminent singers and Bollywood personalities, Satinder Sartaj and Neeru Bajwa graced the occasion.The Laws Department stood second and Computer Engineering & Technology (CET) Department remained third in these competitions.
Prof. K.S. Kahlon, Registrar of the University was the chief guest of prize distribution function. Prof. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, Dean Students Welfare welcomed the chief guest and other. Prof. K.S. Kahlon, Prof. Bedi and Dr. Amandeep Singh, Incharge, Youth Welfare Department awrded the trophies to the winners. On this occasion, members of the University Cultral Committee, students of various departments, faculty members & officials were present.
Prof. Kahlon said that such festivals are a very important part of our academic system and play an important role in promoting our rich cultural heritage. He said that these festivals also explore the concept of brotherhood, national integration, communal harmony and courage amongst the students.
Mr. Jasmeet Singh from University School of Financial Studies (USFS) was adjudged Mr. Jashan 2024 and Miss Parmeet Kaur from Electronics Technology Department was declared Miss Jashan 2024 in these competitions. Overall category wise results are: Fine Arts – 1st Architecture Deparment, 2nd Chemistry and 3rd School of Social Sciences; Literary – 1st Laws, 2nd Mechenical Engineering and 3rd Botanical & Env Sciences; Music – 1st Architecture Department, 2nd USFS and 3rd Botanical & Env. Sciences Department; Theatre – 1st Electronics Technlogy, 2nd CET & 3rd – Laws and in Dance – 1st CET, 2nd Electronics Technology and 3rd Social Science, Architecture & USFS (bracketed).

ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਦੇ ਅਤਰ-ਵਿਭਾਗੀ ਕਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਚਾਰ ਰੋਜਾ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ‘ਜਸ਼ਨ-2024′ ਅੱਜ ਇੱਥੇ ਯੁਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਦਸਮੇਸ਼ ਆਡੀਟੋਰੀਅਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿੱਧੇ ਦੀ ਧਮਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਪਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਆਰਥੀ-ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਤਿੰਦਰ ਸਰਤਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਨੀਰੂ ਬਾਜਵਾ ਦੀ ਹਾਜਰੀ ਨੇ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਦੂਣ ਸਵਾਇਆ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਜਸ਼ਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਹਤਰੀਨ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦਾ ਆਰਕੀਟੈਕਚਰ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਿਲਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੂਜੇ ਸਥਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਇੰਜੀ. ਐਂਡ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ (ਸੀ.ਈ.ਟੀ.) ਤੀਜੇ ਸਥਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਰਿਹਾ। ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਕਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾਹਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ। ਡੀਨ, ਵਿਿਦਆਰਥੀ ਭਲਾਈ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਮੋਹਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੇਦੀ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਕਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾਹਲੋਂ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਬੇਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਇੰਚਾਰਜ, ਯੁਵਕ ਭਲਾਈ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਜੇਤੂ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਵਿਦਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨਾਮ ਤਕਸੀਮ ਕੀਤੇ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਕਾਹਲੋਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਜੇਤੂ ਵਿਦਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਯੂਨਵਿਰਸਿਟੀ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਕਲਾ ਦਾ ਮੇਲਾ ‘ਜਸ਼ਨ’ ਵਿਿਦਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿਚਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਖਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੰਚ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਦੀ ਜਿਥੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਤੇ ਚਾਅ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਹੈ ਉਥੇ ਵਿਦਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਮੰਚ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਤ-ਹਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਰ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਥਆ ਮੁਕਾਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਮਿੱਥ ਕੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਲਗਨ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਰੰਗ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੇਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਜਿੱਤ ਹਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਉਪਰ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੇਲਿਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨਵੇਂ ਦੋਸਤ, ਉਸਾਰੂ ਮਾਨਸਿਕਤਾ, ਲਗਨ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਵਿਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਚ ਕਦੇ ਹਾਰ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਜੋਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਮੇਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।’ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਆਫ ਫਾਈਨੈਂਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼ (ਯੂ.ਐਸ.ਐਫ.ਐਸ.) ਤੋਂ ਜਸਮੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਟਰ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰੌਨਿਕਸ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਮੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਸ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਐਲਾਨਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
