Patiala : Govt. Mohindra College, Patiala has celebrated its 147th Annual Athletic Meet on March 7 2024, under the able guidance of the college Principal Prof. Amarjit Singh. Sh. Showkat Ahmad Parray (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Patiala was the chief guest. The Principal welcomed the chief guest.
Showkat Ahmad Parray inaugurated the Annual Athletic Meet at the college ground. Prof. Rachna Bhardwaj read the report about his life and achievements. The chief guest honoured the occasion. He addressed all the participants and congratulated them for their wholehearted participation in the sports meet.
The flag was hoisted. He declared the sports meet open. The Principal of the college Prof. Amarjit Singh thanked the chief guest for gracing the occasion. The march past was started under the command of the officer Aryan Kalra. Also, the players participated in various sports competitions like long jump, high jump and many others.
Principal Prof. Amarjit Singh motivated the students to participate in various sports activities. He said that sports and academics are both pivotal in all round development of the youth. Sr. Sakatar Singh Bal (Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab) presided over the afternoon session as chief guest.
He talked about the importance of the games in the life of the students. He also praised about the achievements of the institute. Prof. Gursev Singh, Convener of this meet, read the annual report of the institute in the field of sports before the chief guest.
The winners of this meet were awarded with the certificates and medals. The formal vote of thanks was given by the Vice Principal of the College, Prof. Rachna Bhardwaj. All the staff members and the students were present in this meet. The Athletic Meet concluded amid great competition and enthusiasm.

ਅੱਜ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਮਹਿੰਦਰਾ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਮਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਯੋਗ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ 147ਵੇਂ ਸਲਾਨਾ ਖੇਡ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ਼ੌਕਤ ਅਹਿਮਦ ਪਰੈ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਖੇਡ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦਾ ਆਰੰਭ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਗਾਇਨ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਰਸਮੀ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦਾ ਝੰਡਾ ਲਹਿਰਾ ਕੇ ਤੇ ਗੁਬਾਰੇ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਮੌਕੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀ ਆਇਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਰਚਨਾ ਭਾਰਦਵਾਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਰੋਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਸ਼ੌਕਤ ਅਹਿਮਦ ਪਰੈ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਤੇ ਲਗਨ ਨਾਲ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਡ ਸਰਗਰਮੀਆਂ ‘ਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਤੇ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਟੀਮ ਭਾਵਨਾ, ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ, ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਸੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਗੁਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਖੇਡ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਾਰਚ ਪਾਸਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖੇਡ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਸ੍ਰ. ਸਕੱਤਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੱਲ (ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਮੁੱਖ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ,ਪੰਜਾਬ) ਨੇ ਇਨਾਮ ਵੰਡ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵੱਜੋ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧ-ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਾਣਮੱਤੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਮਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਫਲ ਖੇਡ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੀ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਮਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਰੁਝੇਵਿਆਂ ਭਰੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਖੇਡ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੇਕ ਪਰਸਥਿਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਭਾਵ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਸਖਸ਼ੀਅਤ ਦਾ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਤਤਪਰ ਰਹੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਨਵੀਂਆਂ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਧਨ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਪਹਿਲ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਕਨਵੀਨਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗੁਰਸੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਨਾ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਪੜ੍ਹੀ ਗਈ। ਸਟੇਜ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਰਚਨਾ ਭਾਰਦਵਾਜ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਡ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੀ ਕਮੈਂਟਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸੁਹੇਲ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗੁਰਸੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ.ਜਸਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ। ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖੇਡ ਜੇਤੂ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਡਲ ਤੇ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ. ਅਤੇ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ। ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
