Welfare of forest workers always a priority with Punjab Government: Lal Chand Kataruchak

Forest & Wildlife Preservation Minister meets representatives of Democratic Janglat Mulazam Union

Chandigarh : The Forest workers are a very important part of the set up of the department and their welfare is always a priority with the State Government led by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. This was stated by the Forest and Wildlife Preservation Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak today at the Forest Complex in Sector 68 while meeting the representatives of the Democratic Janglat Mulazam Union.
The Minister gave a very patient hearing to various demands put forward by the Union such as the updating of seniority lists, giving employment on daily wage basis to the kin of deceased employees, Uniforms for summer and winter seasons, first aid facilities, proper equipment, and salary by the 5th of every month to the adhoc employees and they are being resolved on priority basis.
Divulging further, the Minister said that the toilets are coming up in nurseries of the forest Department throughout the State in order to provide basic amenities to the workers employed there especially the women. “The State Government during the past one year has provided 29000 jobs to the youth of the State which is a clear proof of the pro people approach being adopted by it”, added Mr. Kataruchak.
Among others present on the occasion included the Financial Commissioner (Forests) Vikas Garg and the PCCF R.K. Mishra.
