Sangrur : Participating as the Chief Guest at a function organized by District Administration Sangrur at Government Primary School Sundar Basti dedicated to International Women’s Day, Punjab School Education and PWD Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla formally started a health care kit distribution drive in Sangrur and also distributed sewing machines to needy women. The district administration would distribute as many as 1,000 kits containing soap and masks along with sanitary pads to the women of Sangrur for the purpose of creating awareness regarding menstrual hygiene. The Cabinet Minister Mr. Singla also held a meeting with the administrative officers and public representatives regarding the parks to be set up in the city at local District Administrative Complex.Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has continuously been implementing successful programs for the overall development of the state and in these programs, welfare schemes were being run for all the sections of the society. He said that the main objective of distributing health care kits to the women was to make them aware about the menstrual health and hygiene of themselves and their daughters.
Speaking at a meeting held at the administrative complex, Mr. Singla said that the Congress government was carrying out continuous development works for the betterment of the Sangrur constituency and for the convenience of the people every household was being connected with sewerage and clean drinking water supply and roads were also being paved. He said that in addition, there is a lot of work being done to widen the roads and streets to alleviate the traffic problem. He said that more parks were also being set up to motivate the people of the city towards a healthier lifestyle. He said that the parks would not only provide a greener environment for the people of the city to exercise but also provide quality facilities which would enhance the beautification of Sangrur city.On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ramvir, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Rajinder Singh Batra, Chairman Infotech Satish Kansal, Vice Chairman Punjab Small Industries Export Corporation Mahesh Kumar Meshi, Chairman Improvement Trust Naresh Gaba, District Program Officer Gagandeep Singh apart from other dignitaries were also present.
