Varinder Sharma Assumes Charge As Deputy Commissioner

Assures Transparent Administration With Accountability Would Be His Priority

Varinder Sharma, a 2009-batch IAS officer today assumed charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana. He said he would carry on with the initiatives and projects started by outgoing Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal. Earlier, Mr Sharma have served as Deputy Commissioner at Jalandhar and Mansa along with Chief Administrator of Bathinda Development Authority and other administrative posts.While speaking to media persons on the occasion, Mr Sharma said that providing a transparent administration with complete accountability would be his priority, adding that he would try his best to take forward Pradeep Kumar Agrawal’s initiatives.He said special plans would be formulated for various fields such as COVID 19, traffic, environment, healthcare, education, safety of senior citizens, women and children, besides other areas. Before this, the Ludhiana police gave him the guard of honour.

He said his tenure as the Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana was a fulfilling one, as he received support of all, including the administrative staff and residents, in carrying out works for the welfare of the people at large.ADC’s Mrs Amrit Singh, Mrs Neeru Katyal Gupta, Mr Amarjit Singh Bains, Mr Jaspal Singh Gill, besides several other officials were also present on the occasion.
