Brahmpura Criticizes AAP for Disrespectful Act at Gurdwara Akal Bunga Sahib

Maan Accused of Desecration at Sikh Shrine in Sultanpur Lodhi: Brahmpura

Sultanpur Lodhi : Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, the (SAD) Shiromani Akali Dal legislative constituency in-charge and former MLA from Khadoor Sahib, strongly protested against the AAP government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann at Gurudwara Akal Bunga in Sultanpur Lodhi on Sunday.
The protest was in response to a recent incident in which the ‘Nihang Singhs’ peacefully engaging in (prayers) Bandagi were attacked by police forces at Gurudwara Akal Bunga Sahib on November 23, 2023.Brahmpura addressed the demonstration and peaceful gathering, expressing his deep concern over the Punjab government’s careless approach towards this issue.
He emphasized that disputes or factionalism could have been resolved through dialogue, rather than resorting to violence and the use of police forces within the sacred grounds of Sikhism. He highlighted that such incidents evoke condemnation from the entire Sikh community, witnessing widespread anger.
Brahmpura questioned the responsibility of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for the loss of life, including that of Police Home Guard jawan Jaspal Singh, due to these regrettable actions. Accusing Bhagwant Mann of betraying the public’s trust, Brahmpura drew parallels between the present ruling party, Aam Aadmi Party, and the Congress party responsible for the 1984 genocide.
He urged Sikhs to remain vigilant against such conspiracies and manipulative tactics, as an atmosphere of massacre and bloodshed seems to be unfolding under the current administration. Brahmpura criticized Bhagwant Mann for failing to provide essential services and employment opportunities for the people of Punjab.
He lamented the lack of new development projects benefiting the general public and pointed out the irony of the Chief Minister’s nepotism leading to an excessive deployment of security forces. Additionally, he questioned the role of Bhagwant Mann’s wife, Gurpreet Kaur, and her misuse of Punjab Police with a significant presence of escort pilot vehicles.
Furthermore, Brahmpura accused the Punjab government, the involvement of Delhi-based MLAs or Aam Aadmi Party leaders in Punjab affairs, while still providing unnecessary security deployments for them, ultimately burdening the state.
Stressing the significance of justice in matters concerning religion, Brahmpura warned that if the present government fails to address the grievances in due time, the Shiromani Akali Dal will not hesitate to take necessary action. He expressed that no Sikh would tolerate the desecration of their religious sanctuaries.
In this protest, the prominent figures including SGPC member Balwinder Singh Voin Poin, Satnam Singh Chohla Sahib, Gursewak Singh Sheikh, Kuldeep Singh Aulakh were present. -END-
