Appeal To Follow The Guidelines Of Covid 19 And Be Proud Of The Achievements Of District Moga

Moga : With the enactment of the Indian Constitution on January 26, 1950, after independence, the Republic was established and we are proud to be the largest democracy in the world.  This was stated by the Deputy Commissioner Mr Sandeep Hans while delivering a message in the name of the people of the district on the occasion of the district level Republic Day function held at the local new grain market here.  Earlier, he unfurled the national flag.He said that today we pay homage to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the framer of the Indian Constitution who drafted a constitution which united the country divided into different religions, castes and cultures.He also congratulated the brave soldiers of our armed forces who are protecting the integrity and unity of our country.  He said that this day also reminds us of the dreams of our freedom fighters for the future of India and gives us a chance to look at our overall performance.He said that the year 2020 has been marked by the global Covid 19 pandemic.  During this year, which will be remembered worldwide for the deadly covid-19 virus, the district administration succeeded in instilling hope, harmony, development and a sense of humanity in the people to save them from this deadly virus.  In Moga district as in the rest of the world, every effort is being made by the administration to save the people of the district from this dreadful disease.Since last March, each department has been carrying out its duties under the leadership of the district administration.Thus while the rescue operation against Corona continued this year, District Moga also witnessed some special achievements at the national level.  Which we should be proud of.He said that it was a great achievement for Moga to be included in the list of 5 most aspirational districts of the country, to make 184 schools smart, to be honoured with National Award on the occasion of World Toilet Day and to receive National ‘Gandgi Mukt Bharat’ awards.  He said that soon 85 villages of the district would get clean drinking water.  In 66 villages of the district, The work of the LED lights is in full swing.  Development work has been completed in 5 villages which have received Guru Nanak’s touch.1.90 crores have been spent on capacity building of rural ponds and solid waste management system is being implemented. He said that under the scheme of distributing smartphones to the students of class XII studying in the government schools, 6399 students of district Moga have become the beneficiaries.

Similarly, every effort is being taken to provide maximum employment opportunities to unemployed candidates.  Employment support centres have been opened in the offices.  A coaching centre has been set up to prepare the youth for government jobs. Apart from this, the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises has employed 5468 youth in 42 employment camps and one mega employment camp conducted throughout the year.  Referring to Faqar Baba Damu Shah Training Academy, he said that this academy was proving to be a boon for the youth.  Loans have been provided to 4041 youth of the district for starting self-employment.He said that to provide seamless citizen-centric services to the people, a Digital Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) has been launched in the form of One-Stop Web Portal which can be availed by the people. He said that 260 volunteers have been trained to protect the people of district Moga from all kinds of natural calamities.He said that to protect the district Moga from the covid 19 pandemic free vaccination was being carried out, in the first phase 1170 front line Corona Warriors were being vaccinated.  He also saluted the health workers and medical staff as well as the frontline workers who fought the front line against the pandemic.  We must follow the instructions to overcome this disease. He said that we should do our part to make Punjab a better state.  He wished that the time to come would be full of health and happiness for all humanity. During the function, the Punjab Police and other units marched past and saluted the National Tricolor.  Jhakis were taken out by various departments.  Distinguished personalities were honoured.  It may be recalled that 19 officers and employees of Moga Police including Senior Superintendent of Police Moga Mr Harmanbir Singh Gill were honoured with the commendation disc received from the Director-General of Punjab Police.Apart from the above, Mr Harjot Kamal MLA, Mr Munish Singhal District and Sessions Judge, Mrs Malti Thapar Former Minister, Mr Inderjit Singh Talwandi Bhangeriyan Chairman, Mr Inderjit Singh Bir Charik Chairman, Mr Maheshinder Singh Nihal Singh Wala District Congress President, Mrs Anita Darshi and Mr Subhash Chander (both Additional Deputy Commissioners) and a large number of locals were present.
