Link roads being widened 18 ft

The link roads of the Mohali constituency are in for a radical transformation under which the 10 Km road stretch from Derri to Nagari, Gigemajra, Middhemajra and Gajjukhera would be widened 10 – 18 ft at a cost of Rs. 4 Crore.This was disclosed by the Health and Family Welfare Minister and MLA Mohali Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu.Divulging more details, he said that the 15 Km road stretch from Saneta to Gudana, Abrawan, Manakpur and from Gudana to Dhelpur and there after to Tasauli would be widened to the extent of 18 ft at the cost of Rs. 6 Crore. He also added that the tendering with regard to these projects is in progress and the work would begin soon. The minister further said that the transformation of these roads would fulfill the long pending demand of the people of the constituency which would lead towards mitigating the traffic related problems of the people and minimize the possibility of road mishaps. Those people who had to commute to Mohali, Chandigarh or Kharar, for jobs and others especially the farmers and the milk as well as the vegetable vendors, would not encounter any problem now.He also added that despite the corona virus crisis, the State Government has continued the development centric works and the necessary precautions are being ensured while executing these projects.Exhorting the people to support Mission Fateh, he said that this important initiative of the Punjab Government can be made successful with the complying of necessary instructions by the people.The various dignitaries such as the Political Secretary to the minister and Chairman Market Committee Kharar – Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhli Kalan, President Block Congress Committee Rural Thekedar Mohan Singh Bathlana, Sarpanch of village Saneta Chaudhary Bharat Ram, Sarpanch of Gudana village Harinder Singh Johny, Sarpanch of Dhelpur village Harjinder Singh, Sarpanch of Derri Gurdip Singh, Sarpanch of Village Nagari Pandit Bhupinder Kumar, Sarpanch of Gigemajra Tarsem Singh, Sarpanch of Middhemajra Sukhwinder Singh, Sher Singh Derri, and Gurcharan Singh Gigemajra expressed gratitude to the minister for ensuring these developmental works.
