Ghanshyam Thori Distributes Bicycles Donated By Rotary Club Among 41 Girl Students

Hails Efforts Of Philanthropists In Serving The Underprivileged Sections Of The Society

Jalandhar : Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today distributed 41 bicycles among girl students of government schools who are brilliant in their studies here at the district administrative complex, Jalandhar. During the distribution ceremony, the DC said that these bicycles have been donated by the Rotary Club Jalandhar as part of their commitment to serving the underprivileged sections of the society. He said that these bicycles would not only help the girls reach their schools timely but also infuse a sense of confidence among them besides uplifting their morale. He lauded the efforts of the Rotary Club Jalandhar for undertaking this unique initiative while appealing to other NGOs to emulate the footprints of the club.

 

He also stated that the Rotary Club has been taking up such noble causes in the past too and assured fulsome cooperation and support to the club from the administration in its future endeavors.The Deputy Commissioner also said that such philanthropic acts go a long way in making needy people feel like they are an integral part of the society, thereby these kinds of activities hold significance. He also recalled the stellar role played by the NGOs during the unprecedented global health crisis, the Covid-19 pandemic, during which philanthropists came forward to protect the entire humanity by providing them with all the basic needs ranging from food to medicines.

 

Thanking the DC for his encouragement, Club President Abhishek Chaudhry, Secretary Jatinder Jaiswal, Project Director Prabhpal Singh Pannu, and Co-Project Director Sukhwinder Singh said that more projects like this would be initiated in the coming days as Rotary Club was committed to serving the society in the right earnest. On the occasion Roopashi Kaura, SK Bansal, Sanjay Kumar, Mahesh Gupta, Dr. Pawan Gupta, Krishan Aroro, Devinder Gupta, Col. Ravi Sandhu, BK Maini, Ashwini Sehgal, and Deepak Paul were also present.
