Connecting Villages To National Highway Periphery Road Around Jalandhar Cantt To Come Up

Dc Reviews Technical Aspects Of Project, Constitutes Committee Under D.R.O. For Physical Visit Shortly

Jalandhar : A 12 kilometer periphery road connecting several villages around Cantonment area will come up shortly as the Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh on Tuesday constituted a committee to physically examine all technical aspects related to this stretch.

In a meeting with Defence and Civil officers here to review the status of this project, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Committee in presence of Defence officers would shortly visit the sites of periphery road and submit a detailed report.

The District Revenue Officer will lead the committee comprising of Executive Engineer PWD (B&R), Executive Engineer Municipal Corporation and Executive Engineer (Civil) J.D.A.Apprising the Deputy Commissioner about some issues related to the proposed road, the Defence personnel said that the their reservations should be considered accordingly.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the committee to make visit along with defence officials so that all their concerns could be noted for best possible solutions while executing the work.

Showing map of periphery road, the PWD officials stated that this stretch would lead to national highway via Birring village. Pertinently, this road, once constructed, will facilitate residents of adjoining rural and urban areas.
