National Gatka Association organises North Zone Gatka Refresher Camp for Referees, Technical Officials

Hoshiarpur : The National Gatka Association of India (Regd.) organized a two days North Zone Gatka Refresher-cum-Training Camp at Gurdwara Garna Sahib, Hoshiarpur with the objective of updating the technical officials and referees for the successful conduct of the two upcoming national level tournaments. In this special camp technical officials of Gatka Sport from Rajasthan, Jammu-Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Haryana and Delhi participated.

Giving this information, National Coordinator of National Gatka Association of India (NGAI) Simranjeet Singh and General Secretary of Gatka Association of Punjab, Talwinder Singh said this Gatka Refresher Camp has been organized especially for the technical officials for the successful conduct of the ensuing Gatka events like the 5th Khelo India Youth Games to be held in Mandla, Madhya Pradesh in the month of January, besides along with preparations for the 10th National Gatka (Girls) Championship to be held in Jharkhand and boys national tournament in Chandigarh in December.

During this camp information about various Gatka rules was also shared and discussed to conduct the events with utmost transparency and impartiality.He said that prior to this camp another Gatka training camp of South Zone was organized in Puducherry last week under the leadership of NGAI President Harjeet Singh Grewal. He informed that in future East Zone training camp would also be organized soon.

He said that Mandeep Singh Dhindsa, Ravinder Singh Ravi and Ramanpreet Singh Shanti gave special cooperation in organizing this camp. Talwinder Singh and Simranjeet Singh inaugurated the camp and briefed the referees on various topics of Gatka game during theory classes.

The campers were provided with T-shirts, Gatka brochures, certificates and rule books by the NGAI. Narendrapal Singh, Tejinder Singh, Yograj Singh, Harvinder Singh, Vijay Pratap Singh also participated in this camp and imparted practical training to the technical officials.
