Bharat Bhushan Ashu Launches 56 New Services At Sewa Kendras For Distt Ludhiana

Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu today launched 56 new services that have been added to the Sewa Kendras during a district-level function held at Bachat Bhawan, here. It is pertinent to mention that Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh virtually launched these services through video conferencing in the same function.This function was also attended by Punjab Youth

Ludhiana : Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu today launched 56 new services that have been added to the Sewa Kendras during a district-level function held at Bachat Bhawan, here. It is pertinent to mention that Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh virtually launched these services through video conferencing in the same function.This function was also attended by Punjab Youth Development Board Chairman Mr Sukhwinder Singh Bindra, PMIDB Chairman Mr Amarjit Singh Tikka, PSIDC Chairman Mr KK Bawa, Mayor Mr Balkar Singh Sandhu, DCC Urban President Mr Ashwani Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma, ADC (D) Mr Sandeep Kumar, besides several others.While speaking to media persons on the occasion, Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government was committed to bring in greater transparency and efficacy in governance by taking the total number of citizen-centric services available at these Kendras to 500 in the next 3 months.
With today’s launch, the number of services at the Sewa Kendras now stands at 383, with a daily footfall of 60,000 in the state.He said that the Punjab government has also taken a conscientious decision for amalgamation of all the existing centres such as Suvidha Centres, Saanjh Kendras, Fard Kendras, etc. with complete backend computerisation and digitisation to ensure public delivery system in a seamless manner.The 56 new services added to the Sewa Kendras today include 37 that were earlier provided by Police department through Saanjh Kendras, 18 which were so far under the purview of the Transport department through their offices, and one (mutation service) that the Revenue department had been delivering through Fard Kendras in the state. Some of the services added to the Sewa Kendras today include issuance of RC and driving licence appointment booking, NOC for inter-state transfer of vehicles, change of address, among others. A total of 21 Police related services, such as Passport Verifications, Arms License verifications, Registration of Foreigners, Issue of NoCs, Copy of Untraced Reports etc., which were earlier being provided from Saanjh Kendras would now be provided from Sewa Kendras.On this occasion, five beneficiaries of the Sewa Kendras were also handed over their documents of services availed.
