All tests and medicines will be available in government hospital within 2 months : Dr. Balbir Singh

Emergency services and labor room are being upgraded on priority basis

Rupnagar : In view of providing quality health services to the people of the state, Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will make all tests and medicines available in government hospitals within 2 months. These views were expressed by Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh while presiding over the meeting at the District Administrative Complex.

Reviewing the health services available in the government hospitals of the district, Balbir Singh said that the emergency services and the labor room are being upgraded on priority basis with a focus on saving the precious lives of injured persons in road accidents, other serious patients and pregnant women.

All kinds of medicines will soon be available free of cost in government hospitals, for which there will be no need for medical stores of Jan Aushadhi Kendra and other non-government organizations.Expressing concern over the shortage of specialists, he said that the Punjab government has already taken this issue seriously and 271 specialist doctors have been recruited by the health department.

Apart from this, the recruitment of para-medical staff is also going on and the remaining vacant posts of the health department will also be filled as soon as possibleDr. Balbir Singh said that the Punjab government has left no shortage in the coming budget to provide free medicines to the patients in the government hospitals of the state.

Health Minister said that it is right of every citizen of state to get quality health services in government health institutions, for which it is the duty of the government to provide free of cost treatment services to the common people at all levels.

He said that our duty is not only to protect people from diseases or to provide treatment services but also to provide healthy life to people which is the top priority of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Dr. Balbir Singh said that Aam Aadmi Clinics in Punjab are providing primary health services to the people and more than 10 lakh patients have been treated in these clinics, so far.Health Minister said that the Punjab government has also recruited new staff to provide quality health facilities to patients in rural dispensaries, PHCs, sub-division hospitals and district hospitals.

On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Dr. Preeti Yadav told about the vacant posts of Gynaecologist including paediatric and other specialists for the district hospital. She also asked to provide a new building for the drug de-addiction center in the district and the need to upgrade the building of the district hospital.

On this occasion, MLA Rupnagar Advocate Dinesh Chadha and MLA Sri Chamkaur Sahib Dr. Charanjit Singh gave detailed information about the condition of the government hospitals in their constituencies and the need for deployment of medical officers and other necessary equipment.

On this occasion SDM Sri Anandpur Sahib Manisha Rana (IAS), Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Harjot Kaur, Assistant Commissioner (G) Arvindarpal Singh Somal, SDM Rupnagar Harbans Singh, SDM Sri Chamkaur Sahib Amrik Singh, SDM Morinda Dipankar Garg, Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) Amardeep Singh Gujral, Civil Surgeon Dr. Parminder Kumar, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Anju Bhatia, District Program Officer Mrs.Dolly Singla and all SMOs and other senior officials of the district were present.
