S.A.S. Nagar : Amid the strike of drivers, the district administration Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar has assured the general public that the situation is under control and they need not to worry. She also appealed to not create paucity of petrol diesel by hoarding the fuel.
Taking view of the present scenario, the Deputy Commisioner said that she has conducted a meeting with the transport unions and sales managers of the oil companies to ensure the uninterrupted supply of petrol and diesel in the district. She further said that the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government is finding the way out to handle the situation at state level and win the trust of the transport operators.
The Deputy Commisioner while making a fervent appeal to the general public not to hoard the fuel in this time, said that the administration is regularly taking meetings with the stakeholders be it oil companies, transport unions or petroleum dealers to put the things in the right track. She said that not only fuel, the other essential goods like supply of LPG and Medicines would also not be hampered in the district.
She said that the persons who are spreading panic through rumours shall be dealt with strongly. She said that the District Police have also been urged to enhance patrolling on the petrol pumps to maintain law and order in case of chaos like situation there. She said that for emergency services like ambulances and others, plenty of stock has been kept reserved to thwart any unwanted situation.
