Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar : Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain today entrusted the duties and responsibilities to the district officials to gear up for Republic Day Celebrations being marked at Shaheed Major Harminderpal Singh Government College, Mohali’s ground on January 26, 2024. Insisting upon the patriotic fervour cultural activities, she assigned the duty to Mrs Sonam Chaudhary ADC (Rural Development).
The team include Joint Commissioner MC Mohali and District Education Officers as members. She was also asked to get the development and welfare schemes-oriented tableaus prepared for display on that day. ADC (Urban Development) has been assigned the responsibility of taking care of seating arrangements of Freedom Fighters.
District Police have been asked to take care of March Past besides security arrangements there. Assistant Commissioner (G) has been deputed to issue duty passes and extend invites. Health Officials were asked to depute medical teams for rehearsals and programme day.
The Regional Transport Officer asked to arrange transportation for government school students who will participate in the cultural bonanza. She directed the officers to the proper arrangement of drinking water and temporary washrooms so that no one would have to face any problems during the rehearsals and programme.
SDM Mohali will be the overall InCharge for function while ADC (G) to oversee the arrangements. The district officials who have shown good performance would also be felicitated and their office heads can submit recommendations by the 10th of January, she further said.
Similarly, the extraordinary achievement holders in various fields would also be honoured on this day. The officers who attended the meeting included ADCs Viraj S Tidke, Sonam Chaudhary, Damanjit Singh Mann, SDM Mohali Chandrajyoti Singh, Superintending Engineer MC Mohali Naresh Batta, DRO Amandeep Chawla, Tehsildar Kuldeep Singh Dhillon.
